While Amanda has practiced in several areas of litigation, her primary focus centers on defense litigation representing clients in healthcare liability claims, claims under the United States Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, and cases arising under the Jones Act and general maritime law. Amanda has assisted in the successful representation of one of the world’s largest platform and land rig companies in a multi-million dollar complex commercial litigation dispute. Amanda has also assisted in obtaining an affirmation from the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in less than one week following oral argument of the matter.
Amanda has twice been recognized as a top up-and-coming attorney in the state of Texas in 2014 and 2015 when she was named a Texas Super Lawyers “Rising Star.” Compiled through peer nomination and research, only two percent of attorneys in Texas under 40-years old receive this distinction.
Since joining the Firm out of law school, Amanda has learned a set of skills that serve the firm’s clients well from the inception of a case through trial. She has developed an approach that balances both an aggressive defense of the underlying litigation while maintaining the client’s interests of providing a cost-effective approach to litigation. She understands that in order to succeed, communication with the client is key to achieving favorable results.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys watching Louisiana State University and Saints football games, attending baseball games, and reading. Amanda also enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, daughter, Charlotte, and rescue dog, Magnolia.
